Why Syzygy?
What Started It All
It all started with a midsummer lake camping trip in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. We’ve always been hesitant about bug spray, but a trip like this necessitated it. After scouring the market and finding only products that contained more chemicals than a chemistry lab, we were left to decide between putting all that rubbish on our skin (the body’s largest organ that absorbs anything and everything you put on it… ) or enduring a weekend’s worth of bug bites. 
With both of us always refusing to believe that there’s not a solution for every problem, and believing in quality and hard work above all else, we knew there must be a better way. We were determined to figure it out. After weeks of research, we created a formula, threw it in our gear bag, and made ourselves guinea pigs for the weekend. It turns out it worked. In fact, towards the end of the weekend even people with the store bought stuff were asking for a few spritzes of our new formula. If that weren’t exciting enough, it turns out that after a weekend of summer heat and no showering, we even smelled great because of the amazing essential oils. So, we smelled like a flower yet repelled bug friends like nobody’s business. Who knew?!
Before we knew it, people started asking to buy some. Add in some extra determination to naturally solve other everyday problems and fast forward a few years, and here we are.
Why Essential Oils?
Essential oils are extracted from plants via distillation, providing an easy way to access the gifts of both the natural healing properties and vivacious aroma from each plant. Because of the labor-intensive process to extract essential oils, it’s not uncommon for these to be cut with other inexpensive oils or make them synthetically to cut costs.
Alternatively, fragrance oils are not created from plants at all. These are synthetically made in a lab. While these can smell lovely, they don’t provide any health benefits and are not natural products.
If you purchase essential oils or essential oil products, it’s mission critical that they are labeled 100% pure. Doing so ensures they’re all-natural, providing maximum health benefits and making best use of your dollar.
It goes without saying, but each of our products are made with 100% pure essential oils. We never purchase essential oils that have been compromised and we never work with any fragrance oils. All our essential oils are completely natural and completely pure.
The Syzygy Ethos
In each and every product we formulate and create, we believe in delivering quality, all-natural problem solving products to all consumers. We believe that all-natural products should be easily accessible by, and an option for, everyone. On top of the fact that a translator shouldn’t be required to read an ingredient label. We’ve worked hard to build products around everyday, household ingredients that are easily identified. We believe that if a product is stated or believed to be all-natural, that it actually should be all-natural. Selfishly, we created products for ourselves that filled gaps in the market. With the copious hours we’ve invested to research, understand, formulate, test, refine, and refine again, we want to share this knowledge and help as many people as we possibly can.
At the end of the day, and in opposition of modern speed and haste, we believe the following should never be compromised: quality, honesty, hard work, humility, and down to earth connecting and helping out a neighbor.
